Yoga for diabetes

Yoga for Diabetes

Diabetes is a modern-day epidemic. About 17 million Americans are diabetic and a whopping 60 million are pre-diabetic. There is no cure for diabetes—insulin will keep diabetics alive, but not healthy. Numerous studies show that yoga offers useful therapy for diabetes. Yoga offers the benefits of exercise to help control blood sugar and improve poor circulation, which is the cause of most complications of diabetes.

Yoga postures and yogic breathing exercises also exert therapeutic effects on organs and glands. The most useful yoga postures for diabetes are those that tone and strengthen the pancreas and its functions.
